Breakfast and departure for Tangier via the capital Rabat, where we will visit the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Muhammad V, the Hassan Tower, and the Oudaya. We head to the coast for the legendary Tangier, which was inhabited by Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Arabs, as well as Portuguese, Spanish, British, and French. Today, it is a cosmopolitan city that enchants and evokes scenes from movies and novels. Arrival and tour of the castle and the souks of Tangier.

Early morning departure to the former imperial capital Meknes. On the way, we will visit Chefchaouen, the world-famous « blue » jewel city. Arrival and tour in Meknes. We will see the ruins of the palace of Moulay Ismail, the « Versailles of Morocco, » with its majestic walls, courtyards with fountains, and the equally majestic Bab El Mansour gate from the 17th century. We continue to our final destination, the empress of cities, Fez, arriving in the late afternoon.

Breakfast and guided tour of this sacred city. The tour includes the 1st Muslim Medina in the Arab world with 9,202 alleys, one of the largest in the world, and its souks. We will visit the Bou Inania Koranic school and the Jewish quarter, Mallah. We continue to see the exterior of the Merinid Palace, the oldest in Morocco, the exterior of the Karaouine Mosque, which was one of the largest universities in the Arab world, the Mausoleum of Mullah Idris, and the ruins of the Merinid necropolis. Additionally, if time allows, we will see the Tanneries. Free afternoon to discover the secrets of Fez.

After breakfast, departure to Erfoud via a scenic route through the villages of the Central Atlas, such as Ifrane, reminiscent of a Swiss village surrounded by cedar forests with its ski resort, Middelt, and Errachidia, a fortress of the Foreign Legion, arriving in Erfoud.

Optional excursion to the Merzouga dunes with specially designed 4×4 jeeps to enjoy the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, departure for the Todra Gorges. We continue to the town of M’Gouna El Kellaa, also known as the city of roses, and Skoura, crossing impressive oases such as Tinghir and traveling along the « road of a thousand caves » to arrive in Ouarzazate. Breakfast and exploration of the city of Ouarzazate, the « Gateway to the Desert, » which was a former fortress of the Foreign Legion. The city is the desert stronghold and has two of Morocco’s most beautiful kasbahs that we will visit. Kasbah Taourirt (outdoor visit), the former residence of Pasha Glaoui, with towers rising above the traditional houses, will fascinate you. The second Kasbah, Ait Benhaddou, is 30 km from Ouarzazate and is truly unique. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Via Tichka Pass (altitude 2,260 m.), arrival in Marrakech, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day tour of Marrakech. Among others, we will see the Koutoubia Mosque, symbol of Marrakech, and El Bahia Palace. We continue with the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, the « Square of Miracles. » Jemaa El Fna is the symbol of Marrakech, where every day unfolds a magical spectacle, composed of makeshift outdoor stalls, snake charmers, storytellers, witches, always combined with the hundreds of shops in the souks. We will also visit the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Return to the hotel.

Optional full-day excursion to the seaside town of Essaouira. In the Essaouira region, only there grows the Argana tree, from which the precious Argan oil is produced. Essaouira is a city dressed in blue and has become an important center of Moroccan artistic creation, with many painters and artists. Climb the Portuguese castle to enjoy the ocean view. Return to Marrakech.
